The End of Tax Season
With tax season behind you, now is a great time to upload a copy of your tax return into Advice Works. Copies of your tax returns can help us understand your situation and clarify the path to your financial goals.
In preparation for next year, let us know who your tax preparer is. We would be happy to connect with them and if you give us permission, we can even securely share your 1099s with them directly, saving you a step.
Lilu in Action
This last month, Lilu competed in a Taekwondo tournament and it meant so much to us to see her out there. She’s been putting in the work, and seeing her take home 2nd place in sparring and 3rd in forms was such a proud dad moment. This last week she took her belt test and qualified for her 3rd Degree Blue Belt (in the picture below she is a 2nd Degree Blue Belt) . She also tried archery for the first time recently. It was a super windy day, but she stayed calm and hit her target from 30 feet away. We love seeing her push herself and even when she is scared she still tries new things.

Welcome our newest team member
Aimee Davis
We would like to welcome Aimee Davis to the team as our new administrative assistant. A proud Cal Poly alum, Aimee is a versatile Administrative Assistant who brings the university’s "Learn by Doing" spirit to every logistical challenge. In addition to answering calls, she will be helping our team with Estate Planning, ensuring your information is accurate and consistent across the various platforms we use and helping to place trades and send funds (with the Advisor’s direction) when you call in with distribution requests. By blending a sharp eye for detail with a proactive approach to office administration she ensures the complex operations run smoothly with the same precision she applies to her passion for photography. When the camera is tucked away and the spreadsheets are balanced, Aimee is a devoted animal lover who can be found volunteering at local shelters or exploring the Central Coast with her own pets.
Junior Olympics
We are beyond thrilled to share that James’ daughter, Lilu, has officially made the Junior Olympics track team! She will be representing her school in the 4x100m relay, competing against the top talent from other local Elementary schools. We can’t wait to cheer her on as she takes the stage at the Junior Olympics—go Lilu!

Why We Sponsor Concerts in the Plaza
Prior to The Molly Ringwald Project, our WW-SLO team took the stage to present the Big Check. Robert told the audience why Concerts in the Plaza means so much to him. We asked him to go into a little more detail for us so we could to share that with you.
"What seems like decades ago, I was a new Financial Advisor and in addition to the long hours, I experienced a lot of personal setbacks.
"Another new advisor told a group of us: 'What's the difference between a new Financial Advisor and a Large Pizza?' - A large pizza can feed a family of four.'
"Money was tight to say the least. I often worked 7 days a week, yet still could not afford to do much. However, every summer for those first few years, Concerts in the Plaza gave me a break from all of that. I was able to listen to live music, feel the energy of the crowd and I usually ran into someone I knew.
"It was a reprieve from everything else I experienced. 'When I changed my financial picture', I thought, 'funding this would be a top priority.'
"10 years later, I started my own company and my first sponsorship call was to the Downtown Association of San Luis Obispo. We chose a Silver Level Sponsorship and a Band Sponsor for 'Dante Marsh and the Vibesetters' that first year.
"The following year, they created a new sponsorship level that just happened to be the same amount as the combined donations for the two levels the prior year. We happily became the Stage Sponsor and have been ever since.
"I get a little emotional almost every time I go. I remember how much it meant to me back then. Now, I look back at the crowd, see all the smiling faces, people dancing and I feel that same energy. I feel so blessed to be able to be a part of that.
"I am grateful to the Downtown Association Staff, volunteers and vendors. I see all the work they put in in each week to make all this happen. The experience leaves me both proud of my part and humbled by the effort that so many others put into creating this amazing event."
